Case Study: District of Columbia Forensics Laboratories Relocation

Project Overview:
HMS was selected to execute the complex relocation of the District of Columbia’s Consolidated Forensics Laboratories, which brought together operations from five separate locations into a newly constructed state-of-the-art facility in Southwest D.C.
Scope of Work:
- Relocation of specialized research and diagnostic lab equipment
- Transportation of SWAT team gear and evidence materials
- Packing assistance for critical lab areas
- Office relocation support, primarily for IT equipment and contents, as new furniture was provided at the destination
Execution & Strategy:
- HMS coordinated tightly with multiple stakeholders to ensure chain-of-custody integrity during the move of law enforcement materials and sensitive diagnostics.
- Partnered with Triumvirate Environmental for all chemical transfer components to ensure safety and compliance.
- Completed the entire project on schedule, with all assets securely relocated to the new facility.
